The Collaboration

We started with scent.

Guille from LAVELAA provided Tyler with an assortment of our clean fragrance oils. Over the course of several weeks, we explored, blended, and narrowed them down to two final fragrances - one centered around bamboo and grass, the other around sage and lavender.

From there, Guille began translating each fragrance into a physical landscape. Molding wax into succulents, flowers, mushrooms, leaves, and other forms, each design evolved alongside the scent.

The result is a pair of fragrances inspired by the Earth and natural world. Made as a coconut and soy wax candle or an eau de parfum. Each one poured, molded, arranged, and embellished by hand in LAVELAA's Denver Greenhouse Studio.

About LAVELAA

We were founded by Guillermo Vela, a teacher and raver turned candle maker.

Deeply inspired by plants, Earth scents, and the natural world, LAVELAA creates botanical candles, soaps, and perfumes by hand from a Greenhouse in Denver, Colorado. We hope you visit!

What began as making candles in our kitchen has grown into a fragrance studio centered around the idea that scent and nature belong together. Each candle is poured by hand and individually embellished, embracing the small variations that come from making things rather than manufacturing them.

Guillermo lives in Denver with his partner Michael, a chef, and their dogs Shadow and Moon.
